Comedy Cebu presents American stand-up comedian Paul Ogata, May 21-23
CEBU, Philippines – Comedy Cebu, the only Filipino and international point-of-view stand-up comedy group in Cebu, will be bringing some of the funniest stand-up comedians from around the world this May 21st-23rd to Metro Cebu!
The observational comedy group has been providing Cebu world-class comedy entertainment with its experienced performers in the art of stand-up comedy for the past 6 months, using humor based on life experiences, social trends, human observation, without targeting or making fun of the audience- a fresh and equally enjoyable alternative to insult/drag comedy which is hugely popular in other Filipino comedy clubs and shows.
The upcoming May events will not only bring observational stand-up comedy closer and available to the Cebu community, but will also help bring aspiring stand-up comedians closer to their goals and elevate Cebu City as one of the up and coming cities in the international comedy circuit around the globe.

Paul Ogata, an award -winning American stand-up comic and actor, who has consistently headlined across the US and also in Asia, will be leading this month’s lineup of Comedy Cebu’s world-class guest comics. He has also appeared in several television shows, most notably Live at Gotham on Comedy Central, the syndicated Comics Unleashed and CBS’s Late Late Show.
The shows this month of May will also include: TakeOut Comedy AND Hongkong Comedy Festival’s founder and respected stand-up pioneer, not only in Hongkong but also in Asia: New York and Hongkong stand-up comic JAMI GONG; Tokyo Comedy Store co-founder and stand-up comic DAVE GUTTERIDGE; Comedy Manila’s co-founder and proudly Filipino headliner GB LABRADOR and last but not the least; the shows’ host and Comedy Cebu founder, GARY JACKSON.
FREE Stand-Up Comedy Workshop and Open Mic Show For Aspiring Comedians
On May 21st, Thursday, 5-7PM at The Monastery on May 21st, Thursday, a FREE Stand-Up Comedy Workshop for aspiring stand-up comedians will be given by teacher Jami Gong to everyone who are interested to learn the basics of observational comedy. Read more about the workshop and open mic show here.
Laugh Trip #6 at Mövenpick Hotel
On the following night, May 22nd, Friday, 9PM, the group will be staging their monthly LAUGH TRIP at Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu’s Ibiza Beach Club featuring the 4 international guest comedians for a 90-minute show.
Hotel guests and visitors alike can enjoy a Friday night of world-class comedy entertainment at Ibiza, which was recently awarded as Best of Cebu in Outdoor Dining Experience.
Comedy Cebu Performs at Crown Regency Fuente; special price for students
LAUGHING GAS #3 International Stand-Up Comedy Show will be happening at Fifties Cafe, 21st flr. Crown Regency-Club Ultima, Fuente Tower 2, Osmena Blvd., Cebu City, May 23rd, Saturday, 9PM, featuring the international guest comedians for their third and last Cebu show. The event will be open to hotel guests and to outsiders alike.
LAUGHING GAS #3’s tickets are already available for purchase and reservation at 250php per ticket which already includes a free drink. Students and Crown Regency Hotel’s checked-in guests may avail discounted tickets at 150php only by presenting their school ID and proof of stay, respectively. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the event.
