Actress Mara Lopez recalls a memorable holiday, riding waves in Baler, Aurora province, during Holy Week: “There was a storm warning and everyone was asked to evacuate because of Typhoon “Chedeng.” My friends and I had been enjoying the waves for a few days already. On Good Friday (April 3), one of the biggest swells came and it was surreal. We explored several surf spots and just drove around. I’m glad he did because it was probably the biggest wave I’ve ever surfed in the Philippines. It was beautiful, scary, crazy. Just amazing. I think the biggest sets broke at 7- to 11-feet high. And look at that wall … Just wow! It was the best surf trip ever!” Bayani San Diego Jr.
