Celebs pay tribute to their moms on Mother’s Day

Celebrities took to Instagram to show their appreciation to their beloved mothers on Mother’s Day.

Presidential sister and actress Kris Aquino posted a copy of an article featuring her mother and late president Corazon Aquino. Kris said that she owes everything to her mother.

“Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! Even though I am Kuya’s & Bimb’s Mama, I shall forever be your baby… Everything good in me, I owe to my Mom,” Kris wrote.

Actor and television host Luis Manzano posted a picture of him with his mother, Batangas governor and “Star for All Seasons” Vilma Santos, saying that his mother is the “best mom in the world.”

“Happy Happy Mother’s day to the best mom in the whole wide world!! I love you momski!!! Happy Mother’s day to all the mommies!! :),” Manzano said.

Meanwhile, actress Angelica Panganiban posted a sweet exchange between her and her mom, Annabelle. The actress said that her mom is “the best, and not worst.”

The first Mother’s Day celebration was celebrated in the US on May 10, 1908 where Philadelphia activist Anna Jarvis came up with the idea of a “Mother’s Day” as a tribute to her mother.

It was US President Woodrow Wilson who designated the second Sunday of May as “Mother’s Day” as “a public expression of our love and reverence for the mothers of our country.” AJH/DPL
