A little bit of Mark and Jaclyn

/ 11:04 PM April 26, 2015

I remember how my good friend, the late Mark Gil, used to tell me, “You can now call me the father of Andi Eigenmann.” The proud dad must be smiling from up above as Andi’s star continues to soar.

She top-bills Viva Films’ latest offering, “Your Place or Mine?” (opens April 29), with Andre Paras and Bret Jackson. The film is based on a popular Wattpad novel of the same title by Turning_Japanese, and directed by Joel Lamangan.

ANDRE Paras (left) and Bret Jackson are cool, funny, sweet guys, says Andi Eigenmann (center).

Andi portrays Haley, a Psychology student who gets drunk in a bar and sleeps with a stranger, Clay, played by Bret. When they bump into each other again, things get hotter and more confounding.

One night’s indiscretion can lead to multiple complications. May the movie remind the young and the restless that love should not be good only while it “lusts.”

What do you think of one-night stands?

In this day and age, it’s pretty much a common thing. But, personally, I’d like to know more than a person’s name before we get into something that intimate.

Are Andre and Bret boyfriend or best-friend material?

Both! But definitely best-friend material. They are cool, fun, funny and very sweet guys.

If you could be a man for a month, who would you like to be and why?

Prince George, son of Kate Middleton and Prince William, for obvious reasons!

Tell us the latest about your daughter.

Ellie will go to school soon. She’s growing up to be a smart, funny and sweet kid.

What’s the best part of being a single mom?

Being blessed with a little ball of energy who’s around you all the time.

What’s the hardest part?

Being the only one who will raise her and make decisions for her in order for her to become a good person.

How are things between you and your mom (Jaclyn Jose) these days?

We are back to the way we used to be.

How are things between you and Jake Ejercito?

We are actually okay. We are good friends now.

If your dad were still here, what would you ask him about love and show biz?

I would ask him many things about relationships and love. I’d like to know his take on my decisions when it comes to personal and professional matters.

What is your fondest memory of your dad?

It’s hard to choose just one. Every day with my dad was a fun memory that I would keep in my heart forever.

What makes you fall in love?

Seeing the passion and dedication that a person has for life—intelligent people who have a thirst for adventure.

What makes you fall out of love?

People stepping all over, and taking advantage of the love I give.

If you could send a text message to your dad in heaven, what would it say?

Hey dad! Missing you! I’ve discovered so many new places to eat. I’m sure you’d love them, too!

In what ways are you very Mark Gil and in what ways are you very Jaclyn Jose?

I am like my dad when it comes to my sense of humor, individuality and realness. I got my mom’s dedication, her being hardworking and simple. From both parents, I got the passion I have for what I do and for the people I care for, plus my love for food.

What don’t people know about the Eigenmanns?

That we are all just free-spirited, fun-loving flower children. And we are very harmless! What we want and need in life—love and happiness.
