Three men claiming to be members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) ganged up on a musician, kicking him in the face before pulling a gun and cocking it in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, at a bar and restaurant in Quezon City.

Neil Baruelo, lead vocalist of a Filipino rock band, told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that he had just arrived at the club when one of the men approached him for no apparent reason. “Tinadyakan ako sa mukha. Tapos naglabas ng baril at ikinasa (He kicked me in the face, pulled out a gun and cocked it),” Baruelo said.

The club’s bouncers were able to jot down the license plate numbers of the men’s vehicles: NEI 399; AAY 38476; and TFO 338.

Baruelo has proceeded to Philippine National Police station 10 in Kamuning, Quezon City to report the incident. IDL
