Is novelty music baduy (uncool)? Neo Domingo, a pop-R&B singer, is willing to try that genre, if only to push himself.

“For me, novelty is simply light-hearted and indulges Pinoy humor,” Neo told reporters at the recent shoot for the music video of his new single, “Kaching-Kaching,” theme song of the GMA 7 sitcom “Ismol Family.”

The ex-“X Factor Philippines” contestant admitted that novelty is not in his wheelhouse.

“But I want to prove I can tackle other types of music,” Neo said.

Recording the song and shooting the video turned out to be a lot of fun: “I hope this one becomes viral… or a dance craze.” Allan Policarpio
