Aljur Abrenica visits GMA 7 show–but all’s not well still

Aljur Abrenica’s surprise appearance in the musical-variety show “Sunday All Stars (SAS)” last March 1 doesn’t mean that his legal battle with GMA 7 is over, the network clarified on Tuesday.

“Abrenica asked to return to ‘Sunday All Stars’ after a long absence. [Since] he still has a live contract with GMA 7, [he] was allowed to,” the network said in an official statement sent to the Inquirer.

Last July, in a Quezon City court, Abrenica, 24, filed for the rescission of his contract (which ends in 2017) with GMA Artist Center. He said his career plans were “no longer aligned” with the station’s plan for him.

The actor, last seen in the TV series “Kambal Sirena,” earlier said he wanted to stay in GMA 7, but not with GMA Artist Center. Allan Policarpio
