Kris Aquino: I’m not running in 2016 elections
MANILA, Philippines–Entertainment star Kris Aquino on Monday shot down rumors that she would be running for public office in 2016.
Talking with reporters, Kris said she signed commercial endorsement contracts last week with “embedded” waivers that she would not run for public office.
“And there’s a clause there that in the event I change my mind and run, I will reimburse them the full cost of the production, the full cost of my contract, times two,” she said.
“So definitely I have no plans (to run),” Kris said. “But definitely, I will campaign, because there are many people I owe a debt of gratitude to, many people I believe in and who I want to help,” she said.
