Hyper ‘happening’ show biz week

Last week was a particularly “happening” time for show biz denizens, who figured in these notable highlights and sidelights:

Resorts World and Viva are coming up with a stage musical version of the hit musical melodrama, “Bituing Walang Ning-ning.” Who will get to play the plum roles originally and iconically essayed by Sharon Cuneta and Cherie Gil? Abangan!

Theater buffs are encouraged to catch the presentations being staged in different venues of the ongoing Fringe Manila festival—consult cultural calendars in newspapers and magazines for specific features.

Before 2015 is over, Kuh Ledesma will come out with a book on her eventful life and career. Other iconic show biz stars should follow suit! In addition, Kuh should find the time and inspiration to mount a follow-up to her successful art exhibit last year.

Joey Marquez’s daughter, Winwyn, is a standout in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas competition. Aside from looking really good, she’s an exceptional dancer, to boot.

No wonder her Tita Melanie is beaming with pride. Looks like Winwyn could live up to her name—in a really big way!
