Film and stage actress Ina Feleo added another achievement to her blooming career when she won best female dancer as a soloist for the Bayanihan National Folk Dance Co., which also bagged the grand prize, at the recently concluded World Dance Festival in Cheonan, South Korea.
Feleo announced the twin victories on her Facebook account on Monday night.
“I’m so proud of Bayanihan and so proud to represent the Philippines,” said the daughter of actress-director Laurice Guillen and actor Johnny Delgado. “I couldn’t have won this without everybody’s energy.”
Over 20 countries and around 700 dancers performed at the event held from September 28 to October 3 at the Cheonan Mian Stadium. The annual festival gathers participants worldwide to showcase traditional dances and songs.
“We did the bagobo, t’boli, kazilimut, malong, vinta and singkil. The 10 finalists performed for 15 minutes each,” Feleo told Inquirer Entertainment via SMS on Tuesday. Marinel R. Cruz
