Francis Xavier Pasion’s “Bwaya” won the top prize, the Cyclo D’Or, at the 21st Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema, held in France on Tuesday.
It is the country’s first time to top the French festival, according to producer Ferdinand Lapuz. “Bwaya,” which tells the story of a student who was attacked by a crocodile in the Agusan del Sur marshlands, earlier topped the Cinemalaya and the Tokyo Filmex.
