Actor Geoff Eigenmann, who broke up with girlfriend Carla Abellana last year, isn’t actively seeking a new romantic relationship, saying he enjoys being single at the moment because he can focus on family, career and sports.
“If love comes my way, it comes my way,” he told reporters at a recent press conference for GMA 7’s afternoon soap, “Kailan Ba Tama ang Mali.”
“There’s no time frame; I don’t like scheduling things. I go with the flow.”
The Kapuso talent does go out, but not with the intention of hooking up. “I just have fun. If anyone likes my company, then good,” Geoff said, adding that he’s not the “ligaw type” of guy. “I prefer being friends first. I try to know the person because friendship is a great foundation.”
Thus, Valentine’s Day came and went for him. “It wasn’t the first time I was single on Valentine’s,” he said. “It’s not a big deal.”
When talk inevitably turned to Carla, the 29-year-old star shrugged and said they hadn’t spoken lately. “You could say it’s a good thing—out of sight, out of mind.”
But he insisted that the possibility of working with his ex did not scare him. “But I don’t think GMA 7 would do that.”
Carla is rumored to be dating another GMA 7 star, Tom Rodriguez. Asked how he felt about this, Geoff snappily replied with a question of his own. “Should I feel anything? I’m part of the past. What’s theirs is theirs alone.”
