MANILA, Philippines—Singer Charice Pempengco and girlfriend Alyssa Quijano talk about getting married “all the time,” especially when they are attending weddings.
“We talk about it all the time,” said Pempengco in an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) during the wedding reception of GMA 7 stars Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera on December 30 at Mall of Asia Arena.
We can’t avoid it, she said, “lalo na kapag uma-attend ng weddings.”
As guests of Dantes and Rivera, Pempengco and Quijano said they were able to “relate” to the happiness of the couple who recently got married.
“It feels good when you find ‘the one’… we can relate to it,” Pempengco said in a mix of Filipino and English.
However, according to Pempengco, there are no concrete plans yet: “There are many things that we still need to accomplish in life. I want her (Quijano) to finish her studies,” she said.
Pempengco said she wants to be “stable” first, adding that they are not going to shirk from their responsibility to their families. “Hindi matatapos ang responsibilities namin sa family namin,” she said.
Charice admits to being inspired as well by the wedding of fellow singer Aiza Seguerra and actress Liza Diño last month. “Inspired but that doesn’t mean I’m proposing tomorrow,” she said in an interview on ABS-CBN 2 talk show “Aquino and Abunda Tonight” aired on December 23.
“(Alyssa and I) are both turning 23 … marami pa kaming dapat gawin at kelangang maabot,” the singer said.
