‘Game of Thrones’ casts young Cersei Lannister

MANILA, Philippines—The popular HBO television series “Game of Thrones” has a new cast member for the role of a younger version of one of its lead characters.

Playing the young Cersei Lannister, Nell Williams is scheduled to appear on the sixth season of the show according to the show’s IMDB page. It is also rumored that Williams would appear in at least one flashback episode in season 5 of the series.

Williams’ agency resume lists that she is slated to portray the young counterpart of the controversial matriarch of the Lannister family, played in the fantasy drama series by Lena Headey.

Williams is known for her work in the British sitcom “The Revolting World of Stanley Brown,” the TV movie “Loving Miss Hatto,” and “National Theatre Live.”

“Game of Thrones” season 5 will start airing in April.
