MANILA, Philippines— The grandfather of comedian and TV-host Vice Ganda passed away on Thursday night.

In a Twitter post past 11 p.m., the comedian said “He’s gone.”

His 93-year old maternal grandfather has since been confined in an intensive care unit (ICU) due to failing organs.

“He made sure I was number 1 before he left,” the comedian said referring to his 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” which tops the box office this Christmas Day.
