Exhilarating experience

LEO FORTUGALEZA, televiewer: “Hearing and seeing Ryan Cayabyab host ‘Ryan Ryan Musikahan’ on JeepneyTV is an exhilarating experience. I mourned for this show when it went off the air in 1995. I hope more young Filipinos will be given a chance to appreciate Ryan’s musical genius!”

Other notes:

Angel Lopez: “I was delighted to read NUT’s article headlined ‘Exceptional actors who deserve a comeback’ in last week’s Saturday Special. Among others, I was pleased to learn that he also wants to see movie queen Amalia Fuentes onscreen again. She was last seen in a brief but important role in ABS-CBN’s ‘Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,’ delivering a subtle and sincere performance. Her loyal fans want to see more of her!

“Torre was also right to put her on top of his list of local show biz’s most beautiful faces. She not only possesses exceptional beauty, but fine acting skills, as well. She is truly one of the most revered icons in Philippine cinema!”

Wardrobe

Dennis Dicen, student: “I’m glad to see that Charice’s performance wardrobe has markedly improved: It’s simple yet elegant, and suited to her body frame—a far cry from the ones she wore after her much-publicized ‘outing,’ which were either too tight or too loose, and made her look shorter and puffier.

“It also helps that she seems to have lost some weight, and her new hairstyle looks better. Kudos to whoever is responsible for her makeover! It’s also laudable that Charice has decided to go back to the singing style that has made her famous!

Luis Pascual, businessman: “One of the reasons why I regularly watch ‘Umagang Kay Ganda’ is Anthony Taberna’s segment, ‘Punto Por Punto.’ Taberna makes it a point to ask questions that reflect the sentiments of his viewers in a manner that’s easily understandable. He goes out of his way to present two sides of a particular issue.”

Corazon Mangente, televiewer: “Can somebody on ‘The Ryzza Mae Show’ call the attention of its host to be observant of her guests? In a recent episode, Ryzza was busy talking to the studio audience, without looking at her guests—one of whom obviously wanted to say something. Unfortunately, the loquacious Ryzza just kept on talking, giving no chance for her guest to say a word! It was embarrassing!”
