I attended World Youth Day [in Sydney, Australia] in 2008, and heard Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI. I understood his homily, but found it hard to connect with him because he looked too stern and strict. Now with Pope Francis, many people are posting his quotes on social media. He is very open-minded, accepting the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community, for instance.
