Comedy Cebu debuts in a free show

MANILA, Philippines — A new comedy group has been starting to form in Metro Cebu. Comedy Cebu is the brainchild of Gary Jackson, an American stand-up comic from Hong Kong currently residing in Cebu. He has been performing point-of-view comedy in over 11 countries around the globe since 2009. The goal of this group is to “spread the Pinoy Stand-Up Revolution” in Cebu. Jackson, along with notable comic friends from Comedy Manila, will be having a one-time only free admission show as Comedy Cebu debuts January 16, Tuesday, at Ibiza Beach Club, Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu, at 8:30pm. Entitled “LAUGHTRIP Queen City of the South: Cebu!”, and produced by Iris Montesclaros, the event is going to be a 90-minute LIVE Stand-Up Comedy show featuring not only some of the best comedians of the country, but also internationally, as the featured comedians have already had extensive experience in performing and competing in international comedy shows and festivals.

LAUGHTRIP Queen City of the South: Cebu! will be hosted by Eri Neeman, and the performing comedians are GB Labrador, James Caraan, Victor Anastacio, Gary Jackson, Red Ollero and headliner Alex Calleja!

Comedy Cebu aims not only to promote and ensure the growth of observational/point-of-view stand-up comedy in Cebu and in the Philippines, but also to attract potential and promising comic talent among this comedy genre’s supporters and enthusiasts to join the group.

The audience can enjoy a night of cocktails, good company and fantastic ambience at Ibiza Beach Club of Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu, one of the prime destinations of Metro Cebu, while Comedy Cebu provides great entertainment.
