Business on Bianca’s mind
Bianca King is happy working as a freelance actress, she said, because it lets her pursue other endeavors, like school, and setting up different business ventures.
“My world no longer revolves solely around acting; I have a lot on my plate,” she told reporters at a recent press conference for TV5’s “Wattpad Presents: His Secretary,” which debuted last Monday. “I’m kind of enjoying that I’m not tied down.”
Bianca was a longtime GMA 7 talent before doing occasional shows for the Kapatid network. “It’s tough to be juggling everything.”
Yoga studio, resto
The 28-year-old celeb and aspiring director, who graduated from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde with a degree in digital filmmaking, recently took a course at the Center for Culinary Arts. She also has a yoga studio and is set to open a restaurant.
“I’m into cooking right now. I’m in charge of the menu and food concepts, while my friends take care of the business side of things,” she said. “The yoga studio was put up with another set of friends.”
Bread and butter
Acting remains her “bread and butter,” Bianca pointed out. “When I get acting offers, I prioritize it. I don’t mind if it’s in this or that network. What I’m concerned about is the material. Work is work…a blessing.”
She has been in a relationship with a non-show biz guy for more than a year. “We have a good partnership,” she said. Asked if business was her way of preparing for marriage, the actress said she was just being practical. “You can’t say when you’re going to tie the knot…it’s still up to the man,” Bianca said.
