‘Violator’ wins big in 10th Cinema One Originals Film Festival

MANILA, Philippines — Psychological-horror film “Violator” won four awards, including Best Film, during the 10th Cinema One Originals Film Festival awards night held Sunday night at the Dolphy Theater in Quezon City.

“Violator” tells the story of five men (portrayed by Joel Lamangan, Andy Bais, Anthony Falcon, Victor Neri and RK Bagatsing) who met a mysterious prisoner (Timothy Mabalot) when they were caught stranded inside a police station due to a heavy storm that hit Manila.

Other awards garnered by “Violator” include Best Supporting Actor for Anthony Bais’ portrayal, Best Sound, and Best Editing.

Other big winners during the awards night were romantic-comedy film “That Thing Called Tadhana” and play-turned-film “Esprit De Corps” which won three awards each.

The film festival will run until November 18 in selected theaters.
