KC Concepcion battles dengue

MANILA, Philippines—Actress and television host KC Concepcion has been down with dengue.

“Hi guys, nag positive ako for Dengue kahapon. Kaya pala ako nagkaka-high fever na on/off these past 2 days. I’m confined sa hospital Pero I know I’ll be ok!!! Thank you for your prayers,” she posted on Instagram account last Sunday.

In the photo, she was with her “Ikaw Lamang” co-stars Alora Sasam and Amy Austria.

As of Tuesday, Concepcion is still in hospital.

“Hi guys I’m still here sa hospi, pinipilit kong maka recover para makapag taping na ulit for ‘Ikaw Lamang’. Wala pang cure tong dengue eh,” she posted on Twitter.

“Grabe pala ang hirap mag ka dengue… Wag kayo mag pa kagat sa buwisit na lamok na yan ha!!! Ang dami kong rashes & ang itchy sobra… Huhu,” she also said in a separate tweet.

Dengue, caused by a virus transmitted by aedis aegypti mosquito, is characterized by muscle pain, headache, fever and skin rash. Patients could also have a low blood platelet count and plasma leakage, and could be deadly.
