MANILA, Philippines—“Matagal ko nang crush si Paulo (Avelino),” KC Concepcion admitted Tuesday night in a television interview with Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino.
“But we’re only good friends now, my status is still single,” she clarified.
Fresh from her vacation in New York, where she said she took advanced acting classes, Concepcion pointed out she needed a break from show business and having a long-distance relationship with someone in the Philippines, despite the technology available, would be hard for her.
“I admit when I got sick here, I had a nurse Paulo. All I can say is he is a good man with a good heart. He’s so sweet,” she said, giggling.
Concepcion added one of the “plus factor” is every time she sees Avelino taking good care of his kid. She said being a responsible father to his child makes her admire Avelino more.
Avelino has a four-year-old son, Ethan Akio, with former partner, actress LJ Reyes. The couple got separated in February last year.
Concepcion on the other hand had a much-publicized relationship with another A-list celebrity, Piolo Pascual.
The cause of their break-up still remains a mystery though Concepcion confessed in a no-holds-barred interview with Abunda that Pascual couldn’t fulfil “the most basic things that a woman needs from a man.”
Concepcion admitted Avelino is courting her but she said she doesn’t want to rush things. “I’d like to start a relationship with someone who fits like glove,” she said.
“You are radiating happiness,” Kris Aquino said to Concepcion before ending the interview.
