How will ongoing ‘teleseryes’ end?
Ongoing local TV drama series have gone into so many plotting twists and turns to keep viewers interested that it’s become a big “howdunnit” to figure out how they will finally end. Some admittedly speculative options to consider: On the current Book Two of “Ikaw Lamang,” it’s a no-brainer that the concluding confrontation will be between the vengeful Joel Torre as Samuel and Christopher de Leon as the thoroughly evil and vengeance-worthy Franco.
But what about Samuel’s son, Gabriel (Coco Martin)? Surely, he, too, has to figure in the extended series’ “final-final” denouement. Does that mean Joel won’t go the distance, and that Coco will have to take his virtuously vengeful place?
And what about the fact that both KC Concepcion and Kim Chiu have been positioned as rivals for Gabriel’s heart of hearts? Who’s going to win in that feisty fight to the romantic finish?
Our bet is on Kim because it’ll be more apt for KC’s antiheroine persona for her to lose or luck out. To make her exit more colorfully dramatic, however, “something” could happen to her character in the final fight.
And what about the “resuscitated” character of Isabel, now being played in maturity by Amy Austria? Isabel suffered a lot from Franco’s “loving” but neurotic depredations so she’s yet to

Love triangles
On “My Destiny,” Carla Abellana has broken up with Tom Rodriguez and flown away to work abroad, but it isn’t likely that Rhian Ramos will end up in his arms. A recent trailer hinted that Tom could follow Carla overseas, so they could finally achieve their “predestined” Happy Ending.
Where does that leave Rhian? Perhaps it’ll be her turn to go the sacrificial, magparaya route—for a change!
On “Sana Bukas Pa ang Kahapon,” it looks like Rose, posing as Emmanuelle (Bea Alonzo), is about to achieve her own vengeance agenda against the series’ many villains, and that Rose’s husband (Paulo Avelino), who’s now married to the lovely but vile Maricar Reyes (are you still with us?), is going to finally realize (with a shock, we’re sure) that Rose is still alive!
But Maricar clearly won’t give up without a huge, all-out catfight to end all catfights—so watch out for the flying fur and fangs!
On “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real,” both Dingdong Dantes and Lovi Poe have been charged with bigamy—but the case may not prosper because it could be overtaken by events—as in,
Dingdong’s life could be in danger due to a mysterious assault, among some other “extreme” possibilities. (The series ends tonight.)
Could it possibly be (we’re thinking really far-out now) that he may, too, not “go the distance,” and that the two Mrs. Reals will end up having to quite ironically comfort each other—as his widows? Wow!
