The 1954 film “Pedro Penduko” caps the year-long centennial celebration (and screenings) of the works of National Artist Gerardo de Leon. The screening is set for Saturday, 4 p.m. at the Tanghalang Manuel Conde of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). “Pedro Penduko” is based on the Liwayway serial created by newly declared National Artist for Visual Arts Francisco V. Coching. The screening is made possible by the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the Society of Filipino Archivists for Film, and the CCP. Admission is free, on a first-come, first-served basis. “Pedro Penduko” stars Efren Reyes, Lopito, Edna Luna, Ruben Rustia and Lito Anzures. Bayani San Diego Jr.
