Cat lovers

Teen star Janella Salvador and her mom Jenine Desiderio are cat lovers. “We bought Twinkee in a pet shop in 2005. She looked so fluffy and she was all alone. She’s a Norwegian forest cat. She’s our first baby. Fluffy is the second. He’s a pure Persian cat. My mom did a cross-stitched photo of a white Persian cat back when she was still doing ‘Miss Saigon’ and it looked just like Fluffy. When we saw him in a pet store, we said he was meant to live with us. And Shadow was scrawny when he was brought to us. Our laundrywoman said she could no longer feed the cat and asked us to take care of him. Now, he’s heavier than the two other cats’ combined weight. There used to be 13 cats living on our roof deck. Most of them left when Typhoon ‘Ondoy’ struck. Only these three are allowed indoors.” Marinel R. Cruz
