The Alay-Lakad Para Sa Kabataan celebrates its 42nd anniversary with a walkathon at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta on Sept. 7.  Frank Evaristo, president of the Alay-Lakad Foundation, announced that this year’s theme is “Lakad Para sa Kinabukasan.”

This year’s host organization is Lion’s Club International District 301-A1, led by District Gov. Marissa Sy. With funds generated from walkers, Alay-Lakad has given more than 60,000 scholarship grants, educational assistance and livelihood opportunities to out-of-school youths. Meanwhile, the Public Relations Society of the Philippines, headed by president Bong Osorio, is celebrating its 57th year. To celebrate PR month in September, the group is holding the Student PR Congress, chaired by Rochelle Hilario, at the UST College of Medicine Auditorium on Sept. 20-21, and the PR National Congress, headed by Ronald Jabal, at Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay on Sept. 25-26.
