MANILA, Philippines – On bended knees and sealed with a kiss. The engagement of Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero and actress Heart Evangelista was nothing short of picture perfect, according to the photos and videos posted online by their close friends.

Escudero was said to have popped the most awaited question on Saturday while they were vacationing in Sorsogon with friends.

Actress Lovi Poe was among the first to post a video of a fireworks display congratulating the two.

On Sunday morning, she posted another video on Instagram showing the 44-year old legislator on bended knees while putting the ring, which features a heart-shaped diamond, on Evangelista’s finger.

Another version of the video was shared by make-up artist Albert Kurniawan.

The video showed a more candid side of the couple with Escudero almost losing his balance as he knelt and Evangelista asking him to place the ring on her left ring finger instead of the right.

“O kumasya o (Look, it fit)!” Escudero was heard saying above the cheers and applause of their family and friends.

Escudero was a former congressman of Sorsogon. He has long been rumored to run for higher office.
