First lady in Chiz Escudero’s heart
HEART Evangelista thinks talking about a prenup agreement is tacky.
“Do you see yourself becoming first lady?” Heart Evangelista was asked after news broke that her boyfriend, Sen. Chiz Escudero, might run for higher office in 2016 with colleague Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares.
The GMA 7 actress found the prospect amusing but, she said, becoming first lady was not on her current wish list. “I neither imagine nor think about it,” Heart told reporters during a press conference for her movie, “Trophy Wife.”
Different worlds
She added, “Knowing Chiz, I don’t believe he’s thinking about [higher office], either.”
Pressed to elaborate on the senator’s political aspirations, the 29-year-old begged off. “Chiz and I don’t talk about these things; we work in different worlds,” Heart said. “But, whatever his plans, I will support him 100 percent.”
Headed there
She was more garrulous when conversation turned to their romance. Heart admitted that they are “definitely headed for marriage.” But, she said, “We’re taking our time, going with the flow. We’ll surely tell you when we already have plans.”
Did she think the plans include a prenuptial agreement? “It’s tacky to talk about money,” said Heart, who recently vacationed in Paris with the high-profile legislator.
Sometimes she feels she’s too vocal about their relationship, Heart said. “I forget that he’s a senator. I get carried away posting personal photos online.”
Heart supposed she would become less active in the biz once married. “Growing up, I missed doing a lot of things, like traveling and going to college. I’d like to experience those.”
Meanwhile, she said that she didn’t feel awkward working with John Estrada in Viva Film’s “Trophy Wife,” which opens in cinemas on July 30.
Closed chapter
John and Heart’s ex-boyfriend, actor Jericho Rosales, figured in an altercation in 2006.
“That happened a long time ago. It’s a closed chapter in my life,” Heart said. “I’ve been through worse … and we’re all leading separate happy lives now.”
