DAZA. Wants to create his own niche.

Franco Daza’s grandmother is the famous cooking host, Nora Daza. But, he wants to create his own niche—in show biz. His tandem with Beauty Gonzales in “Moon of Desire” is making people notice his comic side.

Franco idolizes Eddie Murphy and Vic Sotto. “Filipinos and African-Americans have similar comic timing and flair—I used to watch Vic (Sotto) as a kid. I’d like to have more comedy projects.” Like Jessy Mendiola, he was launched in “Gimik 2010.” But, his big break came when he was tapped to portray an important role in the soap, “Nasaan Ka, Elisa?”

He feels that spontaneity and honesty are the elements that make his tandem with Beauty click. He shares, “Before we shoot, we discuss how to treat our sequences together. We have a funny chemistry: She criticizes me and tells me how my scenes should come out naturally. She asks the right questions.”

What keeps him grounded? Franco answers, “My family knows me more than anybody else.”
