MANILA, Philippines—Preempting a warrant of arrest to be issued against her, actress Claudine Baretto posted bail before the Marikina Trial Court for robbery charges filed by her former housemaid.

Her lawyer Ferdinand Topacio said Barreto posted a P100,000 bail on June 6, after being charged with robbery by Jennifer Murillo, who claimed that the actress forcibly took her money and belongings after being accused of stealing her expensive paintings and bags.

Topacio said they were ready to face the charges in court, saying the complaints filed against her client were “fabricated.”

“It is part of the continued harassment against our client,” he said citing the timing was very suspicious.

Topacio said her client believed that her estranged husband Raymart Santiago and sister Gretchen Barreto were behind it.
