Feng shui expert reveals her advice to celebs
What better way to start a brand-new month than by having lunch with feng shui master Marites Allen on the first of June?
My two kids and I got really engrossed when she shared with us some tips on how to maximize our luck in all aspects of life. Her rags-to-riches story is a testimony to the wonders that feng shui can do, when combined with prayer and hard work.
She has taken feng shui to the next level by launching her Frigga fashion line, which is rooted in the concept of prosperity and luck.
It is about knowing what to wear and why we should wear them. The brand fulfills the need to be stylish and auspicious at the same time.

Here’s my tête-à-tête with the queen of feng shui.
Who is the most enthusiastic celeb when it comes to feng shui?
I would say Luis Manzano. He always consults me as to where and when to move around the cures and enhancers that I installed in his home.
What tips have you given some celebs?
I told Ruffa Gutierrez to move out of her old bedroom and turn it into a walk-in closet. Her new bedroom has better energy for love and relationships. I also positioned her bed to ensure good luck in the romance department. This was late last year and I’m thrilled to say that her love life is flourishing now.
Luis Manzano was born in the Year of the Rooster. That makes him perfect for Angel Locsin, an Ox person who is his ally. Ox and Rooster are intellectual signs.
Just like Marian Rivera and Dindong Dantes, who are Monkey and Dragon—allies as well. Having a relationship with an ally is advisable.
Kris Aquino asked me to inspect several condo units. I selected a specific unit because the main lobby and the unit’s main door face Kris’ wealth direction. The unit’s windows face several banks, too. Incidentally, June 6 to July 6 is her peach blossom luck, a “golden moment” for her to find a partner for keeps.
I advised Annabelle Rama and Eddie Gutierrez on the overall layout of their two homes. The swimming pool in their Makati home bears the auspicious 8 symbol.
How would you convince nonbelievers to try feng shui?
By explaining to them that feng shui is not a religion. It’s not magic; it’s not superstition. Feng shui is a science that we can all tap to ensure positive energies in our life.
What is the most outrageous request you ever got from a celebrity client?
If she could mix her husband’s cremated ashes into the soil of their garden so she could feel his energy every time she was in their lanai. I thumbed-down the idea since I don’t practice Yin Feng Shui (feng shui for the dead); I practice feng shui for the living.
What’s the best piece of advice you would give to Janet Lim-Napoles?
For anyone going through serious legal issues: Wear the peace and harmony or victory amulet. Otherwise, wear the Frigga mystic knot or fireball prints or even the auspicious horse symbol for good luck in the Year of the Horse.
This should help ease troubles arising from misunderstandings, legal issues, politicking and back-stabbing.
Heir apparent
Lee Min Ho returns to Philippine television via the much-awaited Korean drama, “The Heirs” (4:30 p.m. on ABS-CBN).
The show has become the talk of the town among netizens. Hash tags such as #KingMinHo and other related topics trended nationwide on Twitter.
In the new series, the Asian idol portrays an heir to a large conglomerate. He may seem to have it all, but deep inside he yearns to have a complete family since he’s an illegitimate child.
He is later torn between duty and love, when his fiancée gets in the way of a whirlwind romance with his true love.
Ho ho ho!
Personal
