MANILA, Philippines — Seven-time Grammy-winning artist Taylor Swift is expected to arrive at 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport for her concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The 24-year-old American singer-songwriter is on the last four dates of her current tour in support of her 2012 album “Red.” The tour opened in 2013 and took her to North America, Oceania, Europe and Asia.

This marks her second time to perform in Manila—the first was in February 2011 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum which drew an SRO crowd.

Seats to her MOA Arena show have sold out, but fans are still buying SRO tickets at press time.

Swift’s arrival comes on the heels of a scandal involving the firing of MOA Arena ushers involved in a syndicate that steals income from promoters of concerts held at the venue.

The Filipino promoters of Swift’s Manila concert have expressed alarm over the existence of the syndicate, even as MOA Arena general manager Arnel Gonzales confirmed to the Philippine Daily Inquirer on Tuesday, June 3, that the culprits have been fired.

“Management has overhauled the entire team of ushers. We are maintaining a proactive approach to the situation,” Gonzales said, adding that he would deploy “intelligence and counterintelligence” teams to thwart any more attempts by the syndicate.
