Mystica’s seven-hour movie on YouTube baffles netizens

Show-biz watchers would probably remember Mystica as the colorful celeb who tirelessly makes the rounds of chat shows on television. She’s that gal with fiery red-painted fingernails who feuded incessantly with another scandal magnet, Madam Auring.

Last time she hogged the headlines was when she married a younger man and escaped to a serene farm life in the province.

Then again, Mystica isn’t the type to go gently into the night.

She moved her bid for world domination to cyberspace, releasing a seven-hour movie on YouTube (with a 15-minute trailer, to boot) last year.

According to the credits, the magnum opus titled “Querido (Sweetheart)” is not only top-billed, but also “produced, written, documented, directed and edited” by multitasking Mystica. (She was probably the caterer, too.)

Is she trying to upstage filmmaker Lav Diaz, who is internationally renowned for eight- to 10-hour masterpieces?

The trailer features unforgettable lines, a piece of poetry that can rival “Walang himala!” and “You’re nothing but a second-rate, trying-hard copycat!”

To illustrate: In a fit of depression and desperation, Mystica confronts an erring lover: “How could you do this to me?  You said you were single … is this some kind of a joke? I’ve already announced to the whole world, especially in the Philippines. It’s already in the newspapers, on televisions (sic), on my interviews (sic), that you and me (sic) are together. And not just business partners.”

Fair warning: Once seen, it cannot be unseen.

Tattletale

Handsome Hunk got all worked up when a damaging scandal hit the papers.

HH insisted that he was not the source of a rumor that put Admired Coworker in a bad light, that he was no tattletale. But when HH figured in a row between colleagues years ago, he said the same thing.

Why do these rumors keep cropping up about HH?

Hmmm…

French leave

People are wondering if Returning Celebrity will hit it off with new coworkers.

RC had a falling-out with Powerful Player in former studio. Is it because RC can be a tad eccentric?

Consider this incident: RC was chatting with Show biz Insider. SI thought the conversation was going well.

All of a sudden, RC asked for a bathroom break … and took a French leave instead, heading to the nearest exit, never to be seen or heard from again.

Attack dogs strike again

Cutie Hunk is reportedly transferring to another company. He has yet to make the big switch, but he is already deluged with all sorts of troubling rumors. The most disparaging of these concerns his supposedly uncertain gender.

There is an incriminating photo floating in cyberspace right now: a CH look-alike in a torrid lip-lock with another man.

Are the attack dogs of CH’s original studio working overtime again? This is not the first time that a star who had jumped ship figured in such a mess.

On the rocks

From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera.

Sultry Star is about to part ways with Talented Performer. A mole says SS and TP don’t see eye to eye on a number of issues. Cultural differences?

SS thought it was best to part ways while they were still friends. “She didn’t want to wait for a major fight,” says our spy.

Another mole claims SS wants to keep the impending breakup under wraps for now, saying SS doesn’t want people to think she is using her personal life to promote a new project.

Uh.

Scene stealer

KYLE Vincent stole the show during The Cascades’ recent concert at Solaire.

The Cascades fans who trooped to the nostalgic concert at Solaire recently are bound to remember the evening’s scene stealer, the irrepressible US balladeer Kyle Vincent.

Not only was he pitch-perfect and engaging; at times he seemed to forget the audience was there. Intermittently, he would be lost in the songs, including a moving rendition of Barry Manilow’s “Mandy.” Every last line was like watching him snap out of a trance.

And then he performed a difficult Pinoy love song, “Hanggang,” and brought the house down. The hall roared with approval, and demands for “More!”

We hear Vincent and promoter Danee Samonte were busy with postconcert meetings for a week, possibly for more Manila bookings in the near future.

 ‘Lee Min Chon’

Popular Korean actor-singer and model Lee Min Ho, who has built a solid fan base in the country, endorses what is touted to be South Korea’s biggest food chain, Kyochon.

There is only one Manila outlet at present (ground floor of SM Megamall Building B), but franchisers are hopeful for a hit, having labeled the store’s fried chicken recipes as the charismatic celeb’s favorites.

Top of the Talk Shows

For those who missed this week’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):

James Yap on ex-wife Kris Aquino’s love life: “No comment … pero masaya ako para sa kanya.” (Smart.)

James, asked if his girlfriend Michela Cazzola gets affected by issues about him and Kris: “Alam niya na naka-move on na lahat. Wala na sa kanya ’yun.” (Again, smart.)

Maegan Aguilar recalls her confrontation with father Freddie who, she says, threw her out of the house: “Sabi niya,  ‘Ikaw ang pinakamasamang anak ko! Akala mo proud ako sa ’yo? Hindi!’” (Ohhhhhh dear.)

Maegan, asked if Freddie and his wife often fight: “Yes, kasi nahuli ’yung babae na may ka-text… Naririnig namin, ’yun ang pinag-aawayan.” (Good luck with her, Ka Freddie.)

JENNYLYN Mercado is looking for a loyal man who will love her and her kid.

Maegan, asked if she still wants to see her father: “Ayoko na siyang makita … ayoko nang maging anak niya.” (But, but … blood is thicker than water!)

Maegan, asked for a message to Freddie: “Goodbye.” (Here’s ours: “Pagsisisi ang sa isip mo … nalaman mong ika’y nagkamali.”)

Coney Reyes on what close friend Vilma Santos tells her about growing old: “’Di baleng tumanda, basta may pinagkatandaan!” (Korek!)

Coney, asked if she’s open to the possibility of a new relationship: “If it’s part of God’s plan, go; if not, no.  Kuntento na ako sa buhay ko.” (If it worked out for Zsa Zsa Padilla…)

Jennylyn Mercado on ex-boyfriend Patrick Garcia getting married: “I’m happy for him, finally nakakita na siya ng makakasama niya forever.” (What could she say naman?)

Jennylyn on what she looks for in a relationship: “’Yung mamahalin ako at ’yung anak ko … ’yung ’di ako lolokohin.” (Good luck, girl.)

MAJA Salvador and Gerald Anderson are doing fine, thank you, he says.INQUIRER PHOTO

Gerald Anderson on what he finds attractive in a woman: “Basta masarap kasama.” (You can say that because your girlfriend is pretty.)

Gerald, asked about his relationship with Maja Salvador: “We’re good … very good.” (Good!)

Enchong Dee, asked if he’s single: “Happy.” (Not answering the question, Your Honor!)

Sarah Geronimo on always being spotted texting between takes for her movie, “Maybe this Time”: “Opo, baka siya (Matteo Guidicelli) nga po ’yung ka-text ko nu’n.” (Uyyyyyy!)

Vice Ganda on his alleged relationship with cager Terrence Romeo: “Never akong nagpangalan. I never clarified, admitted or confirmed anything.” (Fine. Don’t start now.)

Claudine Barretto on reconciling with Raffy Tulfo: “Humingi kami ng pasensya sa isa’t isa. Hindi naman importante kung sino ang nauna—what’s important is napakabuting tao pala niya.” (Y’all could have fooled us!”)
