The continuing saga of Maegan and Freddie

MAEGAN Aguilar and Medwin Marfil (center)

It’s been a week since my scoop on Maegan Aguilar and Freddie Aguilar’s family feud. Other publications, websites, news programs, and TV shows have since picked up the story.

When Maegan and I saw each other last Tuesday at the bar Chivz  (G-Strip, Greenhills), she was juggling interviews with ABS-CBN, TV5 and GMA 7.

When I asked how she was,  Maegan minced no words. The obedient daughter has turned into a fighter.

After her explosive TV interviews, Maegan found time to relax with friends. That was a real breather for her.

She gamely jammed and  sang her blues away with our fave band, True Faith.

At press time, she and her partner Ali have found a new pad.

“We just have to complete the payment and other requirements,” she says. “It’s small but it’s nice and it’s all ours. We plan to move in by May 30. For now, we are staying with my good friend, Rica Paras. It feels great that friends are supporting us during this crisis.”

It’s been a roller-coaster ride of emotions for Maegan.

Last Tuesday, she was in high spirits. But last Friday, she sent me a text message that went, “As of today, my Tita Marlene has already sided with Tatay. They are still trying to get my kids from me. I feel so hurt.”

On her Facebook account, she lambasted haters, saying that they have no right to judge her since they don’t know the whole story.

A friend of mine from Mindoro (the hometown of Freddie’s young wife) told me that Maegan’s been getting bad publicity there. That’s expected, since the  kababayan of Freddie’s wife will naturally protect their own.

I’ve had my share of controversies. So my advice to Maegan is  to practice the art of deadma. Not everybody’s opinion should matter. Do a Sun Tzu and subdue the enemy without fighting.

Princess’ joy

PRINCESS Punzalan is now a mom to a baby girl. MANILAGENESIS.COM

After nine long years, Princess Punzalan  and her  American husband, Jay Field,  are now proud parents of a baby girl, Ellie. They chose that name to honor her late mom, Helen Vela.

Ellie is short for Helen. They are so grateful to God and it is true: His timing is always perfect!

The brand-new mom  says that motherhood has taught her a lot. She has realized  that babies are helpless and are completely  dependent on adults. “Even if we are imperfect people, we try to meet each need of the little one the best way we can and at the soonest possible time,” Cess pointed out.  “How much more our heavenly Father who is a much better parent than any of us. He loves us way better than any person can. And this realization encourages me and fills my  heart with joy. ”

Welcome to the wonderful, crazy world of motherhood, Sis Cess! You have always been so nurturing. No doubt, being a mommy is second nature to you. Baby Ellie will surely bask in your  à la “Lovingly Yours, Helen” touch!

Better together

My dalagay IC (Mendoza)  and I have always been close. That’s why when our schedule  permits, we have “bonding ng mga bading moments.” I am a self-confessed fag hag or a babaeng bakla, after all.

It’s a good thing that both IC and I are mababaw, in the sense that the warmth and company we share are far more important than the activity itself.

Our fave thingy these days  is enjoying Oreo cookies and milk, while catching up with each other. Such a fun way to unwind during the day before we go on the prowl at night.

In a way, our relationship mirrors an Oreo: IC likes the cream side, while I like the chocolate side, but we’re definitely better together.

Little miracles

MIGUEL Tanfelix (left) and David Remo in “Niño”

These days, we are all in dire need of a miracle. GMA 7’s newest drama series, “Niño” (premieres Monday night after “24 Oras”),  will remind us to keep believing that the impossible can become possible.

Top-billed by  Miguel Tanfelix as Niño/Miguel, a 15-year-old boy with mental incapacities who will be a beacon of hope to his townmates and prove that miracles do happen with the help of his namesake, a Sto. Niño incarnate to be played by child actor David Remo.

Tom Rodriguez makes a special guest appearance as Niño’s hardworking father. Something to look forward to in the show is the “Naynay Commandments,” a set of homespun values that will hopefully spark change among today’s kids who are good at being bad.
