From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera: Close Relatives visited Colorful Personality at home in a posh subdivision. The guard at the gate refused to let CRs in because, CP said, they had no appointment.
To say CRs were disappointed would be an understatement, especially since CP used to run to them when she needed cash—which happened frequently in the old days.
The term “debt of gratitude” is Greek to CP.
Tearjerker
High-Ranking Official supposedly tears up whenever talk turns to Eccentric Relative’s doomed union with Wealthy Scion.
Turns out, it’s not out of sentimental reasons; it’s because ER made the mistake of hiding millions in WS’ bank account.
HO and ER now have to slug it out over the ill-gotten wealth. How could ER retrieve it without raising the suspicion of watchdogs?
Worse, ER has taken up with Controversial Figure, HO’s cohort. CF seems to have less than romantic reasons for wooing ER. Gung-ho CF merely wants to fortify an otherwise uncertain future.
Troubled enterprise
Cast and crew of Special Project are in a quandary. According to the grapevine, the venture ran into a major cash-flow problem.
Some workers have yet to be paid for services rendered. Insiders hope the issue will be settled soon, because the truth is rather messy, with Prominent Personality involved.
Sadly, PP’s underlings have not lifted a finger.
Power play
Perhaps Powerful Celeb only wants to ensure the success of a future project.
After several failed attempts, PC finally found what was missing in the past: Influential Personality’s participation.
IP can pull strings and help PC finally attain that elusive golden prize. Is that why PC let go of Loyal Cohort?
LC is not exactly a huge fan of IP’s. Or did IP ask for LC’s head?
Amnesia boy
Cutie Hunk seems to have a problem retaining names and faces.
During a splashy junket abroad, CH asked Showbiz Insider: “Are you based here?”
SI gasped: “I’m from the Philippines.” Not only that—SI was once a guest in CH’s house.
CH was a perfect host at the time, says SI, but apparently he has no memory of that visit.
Top of Bandera
Top show biz news in the Inquirer tabloid Bandera (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Lolit Solis, who recently celebrated her 67th birth anniversary, asked by Willie Revillame if she had any love left for former ward Gabby Concepcion: “Oo! Ang haba ng pinagsamahan namin, eh!” (And that lovable face naman!)
How about Rosanna Roces?: “Wa! Matapos ko siyang ipaglaban at mahalin, nagawa niya pang mag-traydor sa ’kin.” (Some transgressions are more forgivable than others.)
Willie, asked about persistent rumors that he’s addicted to gambling: “Hindi ito ang right time. Ayokong magsalita tungkol dito kasi sarili kong buhay ito, eh. Saka ’yung perang nilalaro ko sa casino, perang pinaghirapan ko ’yan—hindi pera ng kahit na sino.” (Well, he’s got a point, and the casino is not complaining.)
Willie on rumors that he’s been selling properties to pay off debts: “”Marami kang nabiling investments, ’di mo na napapakinabangan ’yung iba. Anong gagawin mo dun? Nagbabayad ka ng dues at taxes…” (Why was he speaking in the second person?)
(Again, take note, second person.)
Raymart Santiago on Claudine’s report that someone fired gunshots at her house: “Natakot ako para sa mga anak ko… pero gumawa kami ng sarili naming imbestigasyon at… wala naman ganung pangyayari… ’di ko alam kung anong balak niya.” (And of course asking her is out of the question.)
Raymart on fighting for custody of his children: “Gusto kong lumaki ang mga anak ko na may values at takot sa Diyos, kaya ipinaglalaban ko.” (Good luck with that.)
Raymart, asked if he regretted marrying Claudine: “Hindi naman. Nung pinakasalan ko si Claudine, mahal ko naman talaga siya.” (You’re a nicer guy than any one of us, that’s for sure.)
Raymart, asked if he still loved Claudine: “Magsisinungaling ako kung sasabihin kong meron…” (Aw, that hurts.)
Dingdong Dantes, asked if entering politics had crossed his mind: “Ayokong maging unfair sa mga bagay at larangan kung saan ako committed now, like pag-aartista at assignment ko sa National Youth Commission… unfair naman kung ilalagay ko sa kamalayan ko ’yung mga ganung bagay.” (Yes or no lang sana.)
Daniel Padilla on his status with Kathryn Bernardo: “Ligawan stage… parang MU.” (Alam kaya ni Kathryn?)
Daniel, asked if he had kissed Kathryn on the lips: “Ay, hindi! Hindi pwede!” (Tread very, very lightly.)
Billy Crawford on her relationship with Coleen Garcia: “She’s very special to me… ’yung boyfriend-girlfriend is just a label.” (Oh, pooh-pooh.)
Piolo Pascual, asked about rumored girlfriend Shaina Magdayao: “We’re friends, we’re always in touch…kalma lang.” (Starting to bore us.)
Vice Ganda, asked by Kris Aquino how he managed to stay friends with exes: “Eh kasi ang layo ng ugali ko sa ’yo!” (Apir!)
Coco Martin on rumors that Nora Aunor owes him money: “Naiinis ako, kasi… kilala niyo ba ’yung sinasabihan niyo ng ganun? Hindi maganda, e… hindi totoo [na may utang si Ate Guy]…hindi ako papayag hangga’t ’di ko naka-klaro… kung sino man ang nagsulat nun para siraan siya.” (Okay na kami dun sa, “Hindi totoo!”)
