In advance celebration of Mother’s Day, the cast of TV5’s made-for-TV drama “More than Words,” at a recent media gathering, wistfully talked about how they planned to honor their moms on that special day. The show airs May 11 at 9 p.m.

I thank my mom (Pilita Corrales) for her selfless love. She believes in her children and would give anything for their happiness. I’ve always admired her love for life; she’s a very hopeful person … that has helped me navigate life.
From her I learned many things that I now apply as a mother myself. I make sure to talk and listen to my children. I always tell them how much I love them.
I cherish all the memories of performing with my mom. I’m at my happiest when I’m onstage with her. The only way I can honor her is to live my life the best way I can—to be kind to people. Ang pinaka-gift ko na lang sa kanya is to spend quality time with her on Mother’s Day.

I learned the importance of being independent from my mom. When she was single, she had her own business, she was a farm girl and helped her family. I believe that her courage and hard work helped her become independent. And now I am, too. I don’t rely on anyone for anything because I’m my own woman.
I have some very funny memories of my mom, who used to be very strict. One time, when I was 18 or 19, I went to a disco with friends and stayed there past my 10 p.m. curfew. And then at 12 a.m., a lady came storming into the disco. She grabbed me and dragged me out of the disco. Turned out, it was my mom!
I want to have a simple celebration on Mother’s Day. My mama is 83 years old; every day that I get to spend with her is a gift.
I wish I were a part of this celebration as well. I am kinda jealous of moms. I wish I had children.

I’m not very vocal about my feelings; I would rather show it. Of course, I appreciate my mom’s sacrifices for me. The most indelible lessons she has imparted are respect, professionalism and hard work. She did everything to provide me with a comfortable life… Thank you, mom. For me the most important thing is time with her on Mother’s Day.

Saludo ako sa nanay ko. She taught me a lot of things when I was young and always reminded me to be a good person…. I’ll probably give her flowers and take her to dinner on Mother’s Day.
