LAUCHENGCO. Revives ’80s sound in “The Promise.”

Raymond Lauchengco is best remembered for his work in the ’80s as part of the coming-of-age flick, “Bagets,” which launched his singing career.

OPM classics like “Farewell,” “Saan Darating Ang Umaga?” and “I Need You Back” endeared him to a generation of music lovers, who still identify with the singer.

With the release of his new album, “The Promise,” the balladeer aims to create more memories for  his longtime followers—and win new ones, as well. The album puts Raymond in a swinging mood as he performs to the Big Band beat.

Raymond reworks well-loved tunes like “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” “Till There Was You,” “Can’t Smile Without You,” “I Swear,” “I’ll Never Break Your Heart,” “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You,” “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “Langit Na Naman” and the title track.
