White Christmas in April
Better sooner than later. Eight-year-old child star Ryzza Mae Dizon had her first white Christmas in April during a recent “working” trip to Toronto, Canada.
“Akala ko, malamig,” she said of the snow. “Pero pagtagal, umiinit din.”
Ryzza Mae joined the “Eat Bulaga” cast (the “Dabarkads,” led by Tito and Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon) for a concert held at the Sony Center for the Performing Arts on April 12.
Ryzza Mae frolicked in the ice with Dabarkads Paolo Ballesteros and Ruby Rodriguez. “Ang saya-saya!” she told the Inquirer.
She visited the famed Niagara Falls. “Akala ko mahuhulog po ako sa lakas ng hangin,” she recalled. She marveled at the CN Tower, which has glass floors, offering views of the street below. “Noong una, nahilo ako pero pag tagal, OK na. Humiga ako sa floor at nagpa-picture-picture.”

Aside from the sights, she said, meeting Filipino-Canadian fans made the otherwise exhausting trip well worth it.
(GMA Corporate Communications reported that 3,000 fans watched “Eat Bulaga Live in Toronto.”)
Ryzza Mae related an encounter with foreign (“blonde”) fans who turned up at the hotel at night, when she was already in her pajamas: “Tinanong ko po sila: ‘Do you watch my shows?’ Sabi nila: ‘You’re amazing!’”
The girl received all sorts of gifts from admirers. “May nagbigay ng chocolates, dolls, mga dress at teddy bear.”
“Eat Bulaga Live in Toronto” was copresented by the GMA Network global channels: GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News International.
