MANILA, Philippines – Businessman Cedric Lee and his accomplice accused of allegedly mauling actor TV-host Vhong Navarro were arrested Saturday morning in Oras, Eastern Samar, authorities said.

Lee and Simeon Palma alias Zimmer Raz will be brought to NBI headquarters in Manila, according to Director Virgilio Mendez.

The arrest was made by combined elements from the Eastern Visayas Regional Office (Evro)and the Samar District Office (Samdo) in coordination with provincial police, said Justice Secretary Leila de Lima in a text message to reporters.

Lee and Palma were charged with serious illegal detention, along with Lee’s sister Bernice, model Deniece Cornejo and several others after they allegedly tried to frame the actor-host for rape in January. With a report from Tetch Torres, INQUIRER.net
