I’m reading “The Sky is Everywhere,” by Jandy Nelson. It’s a beautiful story about a girl who falls in love with her dead sister’s boyfriend. But my favorite is the inspirational book, “The Purpose Driven Life,” by Rick Warren. It teaches you about God and life, asks questions and urges you to reflect. It taught me that a successful person does not take credit for his achievements; he attributes them to God.” Marinel R. Cruz

I wasn’t into reading, but Bob Ong’s “Kapitan Sino” got me hooked. Now I’m into local superheroes. I found Paolo Fabregas’ comic book, “Filipino Heroes League,” in a bookstore. Filipino superheroes have joined forces, like their US counterparts, the Justice League and The Avengers. The Pinoy superheroes are up against the government—a lot like the situation today: People are distrustful of some politicians. Bayani San Diego Jr.

I’ve read all three novels by E. L. James—“Fifty Shades of Grey,” “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.” I am intrigued by the female character. She got to change her man through love. They overcame their problems. It’s thrilling and entertaining; at the same time, you pick up lessons from it. For example, you should think hard before falling in love, instead of recklessly jumping into it. Bayani San Diego Jr.
