JC DE Vera says costar Meg Imperial is “lovable, prim and proper.”

JC de Vera, Ellen Adarna and Meg Imperial promise to make our summer afternoons hotter  in ABS-CBN’s  daring new series, “Moon of Desire” (premieres today after “It’s Showtime”).

Talk about afternoon delight! It’s a compelling story about love, lies and finding true beauty.

I personally think that JC is underrated as an actor. On the verge of a career breakthrough, JC is more than ready to bare and dare all …

FEATURED STORIES

Here’s my tête-à-tête with hunky JC.

What are your unfulfilled desires?

To go back to school and finish college. And to travel around the world.

In your opinion, what makes a woman desirable?

I really look at the personality first. Physical appearance is only secondary.

What can the audience expect from “Moon of Desire”?

They could expect more depth from me and a more mature portrayal of my character. I’m going to be more sensual in this series.

What can you say about your leading ladies, Meg and Ellen?

Meg is the innocent, prim-and-proper type. Ellen is more outgoing and liberated. They are both easy to get along with, which makes them lovable.

You have worked for all three networks. What’s the difference?

I really can’t compare because I have different memories of each network. It just so happens that now that I’m with ABS-CBN, I’m at this point in my life where I’m on my own and planning for my future. Now, I’m more serious about my career. Maybe the difference is that I’m more productive now because the Kapamilya network keeps giving me new projects.

Superwoman

I immensely enjoyed bonding over dinner with Mother Lily Monteverde, my dalaGAY IC  Mendoza and “Eat Bulaga’s” lady boss, Malou Choa-Fagar at  Heat in Edsa Shangri-La.

Mother has a designated table in the resto, and the staff members are her anak-anakan since she’s a regular. “I never eat at home,” she said. “I enjoy resto-hopping with friends. I love people-watching; it fascinates me. I was given a new lease on life so I’m savoring every moment and rekindling ties with friends.”

The Regal matriarch has paved the way for countless movie stars. “Gone are the days of Regal babies,” she quipped. “I had my time. It’s all a matter of acceptance. But I love show biz that’s why I’m still around. I make sure all our contract stars will always have projects. I’m no longer as stressed out compared to those days when we would make 40 movies a year. I now have the time to enjoy the finer things in life.”

Mother is truly the voice of wisdom. What would Pinoy show biz be without her? On behalf of all the people whose lives she has changed for the better, I’d like to thank her for being my refuge in the chaotic biz.

What a superwoMOM she is to all of us in the industry!

Caterer to the stars

Juan Carlo The Caterer has long been the food supplier of choice of many celebs.

They provided the chow at the debut of Julia Montes and the  nuptials of Ogie Alcasid-Regine Velasquez and  Miriam Quiambao-Ardy Roberto, just to name a few.

Their latest celeb client is Kathryn Bernardo.

During the food tasting for Kathryn’s debut at Blue Leaf, she chose gourmet and healthy food. The teen sensation is a gourmand who knows good food by heart.

Among her picks were lamb chop with mint jelly, tagliatelle al pesto with pine nuts, lumpiang Macau, Tahitian punch, blue lemonade, coffee magnifico, pumpkin soup with truffle oil served on a fresh mini-pumpkin and salad on a pink tortilla.

But of course the pièce de résistance at Kathryn’s debut was her special someone, Daniel Padilla.
