Myx TV to air Soompi Awards for K-pop

LOS ANGELES—International K-Pop fans will help decide who wins the Soompi Awards 2013 coveted by dozens of artists, stars and chart-topping hits.
Bragging rights are at stake for the masters of the international music scene. K-Pop legends Girls’ Generation, PSY, Cho Yong Pil, Lee Hyori and many more will be at Myx TV, which will exclusively air the Soompi Awards 2013 on Feb. 18 at 9:30 p.m.
Now in its ninth year, the Soompi is the largest international award that honors annual achievements in K-Pop.
Article continues after this advertisement“This year, we’ve expanded our categories to allow for a greater variety of awards, such as Best Music Video and Best Fandom,” said Susan Kang, founder and chief evangelist for Soompi. “We thank all of our fans and followers for supporting their favorite artists.”
Article continues after this advertisementThe voting period ran through Jan. 13, with fans and followers voting for awards like Top Female Solo Artist, Top Male Solo Artist, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. The awards for Best Music Video and Song of the Year were only available for voting via a downloadable app.
“Soompi has been a great partner to Myx TV over the years, providing world-class K-pop entertainment and music to American audiences,” said Miguel Santos, general manager of Myx TV. “We look forward to this exclusive broadcast of the Soompi Awards 2013 where trendsetters and innovators of K-Pop music convene.”
The Soompi Awards 2013 will also be available at www.myx.tv/soompi on Wednesday, Feb. 19 and on connected platforms—Roku, Samsung Smart TV, Samsung Blue-Ray and Sony Entertainment Network—on Mar. 13.
