2 PH films in Portland fest

Two Filipino films will be screened at the 37th Portland International Film Festival in Oregon on Feb. 6 to 22. Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s “Thy Womb” will be shown on Feb. 15 and 20; Hannah Espia’s “Transit,” Feb. 13 and 15.

Apart from established masters, the fest also features first-time filmmakers like Espia.

She is one of 28 competing for the New Director Audience Award.

Anthony Chen’s “Iloilo” (from Singapore) is also lined up.  Bayani San Diego Jr.
