Grammy-winning band Phoenix performs in Manila

MANILA, Philippines—Phoenix frontman and singer Thomas Mars says he and fellow band members are enjoying their first visit to the Philippines and are looking forward to their concert.

The Grammy-winning French dance pop and glam rock quartet was performing Tuesday night at Manila’s World Trade Center.

In a brief interview hours before the concert, Mars said the band had some time to see Manila before the concert and “we are enjoying it very much.”

But he said they were looking forward to putting on the show the most.

Mars is married to film director Sofia Coppola, who he said was unable to join him in Manila.
