Serendipity in September
This is a particularly serendipitous month in terms of viewing treats, so we urge you to make time for the best of them.
They’re topped by the theater release (finally!) of Marilou Diaz-Abaya’s latest inspirational, spiritual marvel, “Ikaw ang Pag-ibig.” Dear Marilou is still resolutely confronting her medical battles and crises, so do join us in praying for her recovery, so she can make more films as memorable and moving as this one.
The movie is a triumph not just for the much-loved and esteemed filmmaker, but also for her gifted and similarly committed actors – Ina Feleo, Marvin Agustin, Jomari Yllana, Yogo Singh, Shamaine Centenera, Noni Buencamino, etc.
Most of all, the production is a blessing, because it honors “Ina,” Our Lady of Peñafrancia, and Her loving presence and influence for centuries in the lives of many devotees in the Bicol region, and throughout the land.
To catch the film’s premiere, we had to fly all the way to Naga, but the superlative film – and the beaming smile its luminous success brought to Marilou’s face – were well worth the extra effort. Do watch “Ikaw ang Pag-ibig” starting September 14, so it can fill your hearts with hope and healing, as well!
