SKorea boy band member’s father, grandparents dead
SEOUL, South Korea — The father and grandparents of a member of South Korean boy band Super Junior have died in a suspected murder-suicide, news reports said Tuesday.
Lee Teuk’s grandparents were found dead in bed while his father was hanging by a rope around his neck at their Seoul home Monday, the Chosun Ilbo newspaper reported on its website.
The newspaper cited an unidentified police officer as saying Lee’s father left a suicide note suggesting he killed himself after strangling his parents.
The newspaper said Lee’s father had been suffering from depression and economic difficulties while living with his parents, both of whom were suffering from dementia, after divorcing his wife in 1998.
Other South Korean media carried similar reports. Police could not immediately confirm the reports after business hours Tuesday.
