Philippine film wins in Jeonju

CINEMA One winner Remton Siega Zuasola’s “Ang Damgo ni Eleuteria (The Dream of Eleuteria)” won the Special Jury Prize at the conclusion of the 12th Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea on Friday. The jury praised the film for its “acute sensitivity, humor and compassion.” Shot in one long take, it follows a Visayan girl as she prepares to leave her small island for a new life as a mail-order bride in Europe.
