Dutch film with Filipino actors wins awards

A movie from the Netherlands, which is set in Manila and top-bills Filipino actors, won in a film festival in Australia. Jacco Groen’s “Lilet Never Happened” won the Audience Award at the Auburn International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults. The movie features Filipinos John Arcilla, Angeli Bayani, Timothy Mabalot, Marife Necesito and Sandy Talag in the title role of a child prostitute. “Lilet” earlier won best youth film at the Buster International Film Fest for Children and Youth held in Copenhagen.
