The indie film “Boses” had grossed over P1 million on Friday, since opening in SM Cinemas nationwide Wednesday. “Boses” screened to packed audiences in several SM theaters in Metro Manila, particularly SM San Lazaro and SM North Edsa.

There are also simultaneous screenings in many places, among them Batangas, Baguio, Iloilo, Cebu, Davao and Pampanga.

Director-producer Ellen Marfil attributed the film’s success to the goodwill generated by the film. “There are SM Cinemas that have performed very well but there are also branches that fared poorly,” Marfil admitted. “We continue to request those who have been touched, delighted and even helped by the film, to spread the word. Go out and vote for child-relevant films to win at the malls.”
