Theater legend Lea Salonga reminded her followers to be wary of social media accounts pretending to be hers, saying she only has one official Instagram account.
On her Instagram story, Salonga underscored that bad spelling and grammar are signs of poser accounts, and she asked everyone to report those people claiming to be her.
“Just a friendly reminder that I have only one account here on Instagram, and it’s verified. If you see anyone claiming to be me, report them. The spelling and/or grammar will be the deadest of the dead giveaways,” she wrote.

In 2019, the Broadway superstar first reminded her fans not to fall for scams purporting to be hers to solicit money.
“It has come to my attention that someone has been using my name and profile picture to solicit money from my fans. I would never do that, ever. Not in a million years,” she wrote at the time.
Similar to her recent post, Salonga asked her fans to report the accounts, as the bad grammar already proves that the accounts were not handled by her.
“If you’ve ever received a message from someone using my name asking for money, report it and block it. Thank you,” she said.
“By the way, I’ve seen a sampling of the messages. My God, talk about murder of the English language,” added the award-winning singer.
Meanwhile, aside from Salonga, other Filipino celebrities in the past who have also warned their followers about poser accounts include Andrea Torres, Barbie Forteza, Pia Wurtzbach, Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista, and Rhian Ramos.
